· ARK not downloading subscribed mods. I've been trying advice from different threads for over an hour now and nothing has worked. I subscribed to the mods, and in my library ARK is immediately listed with a "- Ready to play" at the end, which usually happens after a download finishes. The download screen is empty, no "workshop content" download. · Delete your \steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods folder; Delete your \steamapps\workshop\content\ folder; Use the launch option "Launch ARK (Reset Total Conversion)" (Multiplayer) Reconnect to your server (You will be timed out while the mods are re-subscribed and re-downloaded) Return to the main menu. For the past 2 hours, ARK has been validating, then installing, then repeating. I've restarted steam and unsubscribed from all my mods and it's still doing it. Not sure if this is useful, but I also did just buy the Season pass. I'm going to reboot my PC, but I'd appreciate some help! Edit: I resolved the issue.
Mods status bar only appears in Big Picture Mode - For some reason, Steam changed the default behavior, so in the latest versions mod updates will download silently in the background, so you can no longer track their progress. If this scenario is applicable, you can verify if the mods are actually downloading by switching to Big Picture Mode. Delete everything here to wipe out all the mod content, then start a fresh download. This is the path to mine, I have everything on D instead of C drive. Maybe a clean out will help. Good luck! Using the control panel's built-in mod handler: Step 1: Open Steam, and navigate to the ARK workshop and find the mod you'd like to use on your server. Step 2: At the end of the link shown in the workshop listing, there is a numeric value, this is the mod's ID. Copy this number value down. See the image below for an example.
Open the Workshop and see if you are able to download and install mods. Re-installing the Steam client. If the issue is still occurring, move down to the next method below. The settings window will open, there click the tab "Downloads". At the bottom you should have a checkbox named "Allow downloads during gameplay" which needs to be checked for ark (and other games) to be able to download mods e.t.c. while the game is running. Press "Ok" and you should be good to go! 2. Usually step are sufficient. 1. Close down steam completely (so Steam Exit in the upper left menu), 2. go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop. 3. Delete the Downloads folder. 4. Then restart Steam. Resume the download if needed.
